Juniors Lose in OT

It was everything we hoped it would be, until the final play in OT. When these two teams meet, it reminds us of epic battles like the soldiers of 300, or the men of troy. Struggling with the run offense, the lions jumped out on top when Niko Johnson threw a 30yd strike up the far sideline to Kyimon Hockaday. After a couple of penalties the two would later hook up again for the conversion but was negated due to another penalty. The lions would hold strong until late in the fourth when the saints found the end zone, but was stuffed for the conversion which forced OT. The saints won the toss and would put themselves in the drivers seat on a 4th a goal reverse for a TD. The lions again, held the conversion for a loss but didn’t find the end zone on the ensuing possession. The Lions had few standout performances but two names definitely stood out on both sides of the ball. Niko Johnson and Kyimon Hockaday. Johnson finished the day with a TD pass and several tackles on defense, while Hockaday finished with a TD catch, and a BIG interception to force OT. Hopefully coach J can get the lions back on track this week against the raiders with a win.

Lions bite Raiders in blowout

It didnt take long for the Lions to pounce on their prey to kick off MYFL Sunday. The opening kickoff was returned by Darnell Elliott for 61yds. Niko Johnson called his own number for the conversion. Isaiah King would have a field day in his first action as the feature back. He would finish the day with 83yds 2tds and 2conversions. Booth would throw in 2picked off passes one of which was returned for 6. Elliott would later cash in again returning a punt into a 42 yd td. Thanks to the o-line and guys stepping up to play, the lions would go on to have a field day and rout the raiders 49-0.

Lions roar into Parham and take the grizzly out of the bears.
The Lions enjoyed their 3rd win of the season as the defense pitched its 3rd shutout. causing 2fumbles for recoveries, an interception, and several well defended passes the defense made it easy for the offense to cash in on TD's. Quincy Goodine, Donnell Elliott, and Isaiah King softened the middle of the bears D with runs of almost 4yds per carry. that would make way for "scuba" stephen booker to cash in on big plays through out the game coming up big with 4catches for 83yds. Niko Johnson would pick up a score, along with Elliott. and Ralph Stovall would add a catch from Johnson for a conversion. the Lions have to be flawless in execution in the coming games. WE GOT HOMECOMING THIS WEEK.
next up chamberlayne packers.

Lions send Chamberlayne Pack-ing

The Lions came out and celebrated homecoming with a nice divisional win over the packers. TD's were scored from every angle on Saturday as "Scuba" Stephen Booker led the team with 2 tds. One of which he received a 67yd strike from QB Niko Johnson, and the other was a fumble recovery forced by Scottie "Bad Finger" Johnson. The packers tried to make the game interesting with a couple of nice runs but the lions D would prove to be too much. Quincy Goodine would also get in on the action after a nice days work, by returning an ensuing kickoff back for a 71yd score. Kyimon Hockaday held down the secondary by shutting down the packers number one threat, with several broken up passes. Nice game fellas. We gotta improve every week. Thanks parents, family and board for making the homecoming a success!
