This week the mighty Lions took the field against another of their cross town rivals, the Parham Bears. The Lions struck first with a 7-0 lead, followed by the defense leading the way putting 2 points on the board by way of their first safety of the year. Up 9-0 the Lions missed still yet other scoring opportunities by dropped passes and missed tackles. The offense scored again making the score 16-0 at the half. The second half was full of missed tackles blocks etc. as the second team once again tried to find their way to the end zone, but turnovers once again plagued the Lions. The defense along with some niffty running by the Bears lead to a score. Later on the Bears would yet score again leaving the final score 24-13, resulting in the Lions 4th victory in as many games."

The Glen Lea Pee Wees took the field against the Chamberlayne Packers. Both
teams come into the event boasting perfect 4-0 records. One would leave
undefeated while one would leave with a blemish on their record. The Mighty
Lions strike first scoring on their initial drive after a 3 and out punt by the
Packers on their opening drive. With the score at 6-0 the Lions seemed destined
to set the tone for the game. However a defensive breakdown on the right side of
the Lions defense resulted in a long scoring touchdown run by the Packers. The
Packers are now up 7-6. The Lions then march the ball down the field only to
turn it over to the Packers who converted the turnover into yet another 6
points. Down 13-6 the Lions claw their way back into the game with another
score. The score is now 13-12 it seems that the missed extra points would
ultimately prove to be the Lions demise. With the Lions on the move with
momentum gaining a blown assignment on a blitz call left the Packer tight-end
seemingly wide open for a pass which the took to the end zone after several
Lions missed tackles. With the score at 19-12 the Packers went for a two point
conversion and was successful once again by throwing to the tight-end. 21-12 the
Lions pride never faltered. They took the ensuing kickoff down the field into
scoring position but again several costly penalties which included two personal
fouls backed the Lions out of scoring position. However the Lions would not be
denied. After several plays the Lions were able to score 6 point. The score is
now 21-18 and the Lions go for two, which was successful. Trailing now by only 1
point, 21-20, and with less than 30 seconds on the clock, the Lions lined up and
attempted an on-side kick. The on-side kick was not successful and the Packers
recovered the ball and with 14 seconds in regulation the Packers take a knee to
end the game giving the Lions their first and only loss of the season. This
players on this team showed that there is no quit in them and will live to face
the Packers again in the play-offs and the results will be different.

Glen Lea Pee Wee Lions take the field against Blue Star Blue Cowboys. The Lions
are off to a good start, forcing the Cowboys to punt then taking the ball down
to score 6 points, extra point no good. The Lions defense was very stingy, not
allowing the Cowboys to run their high powered offense. The Lions scored again
making the score 12-0 in the first half. The Lions were pressing to score again
before the half but ran out of time. Penalties again plagued the Lions offense,
the yellow flags were flying all over the field. The Cowboys attempted an
on-side kick which went out of bounds and the Lions received the ball on the 35
yard line. Play after play the Lions moved the ball but penalties negated all
scoring opportunities. The defense once again rose to the occasion and shut out
the Cowboys with a final score of 12-0. Play-offs next week.
