Game Highlights:

September 13, 2008

Mistakes definitely proved costly for the Lions as the visiting Laurel Panthers edged out a 12-6 victory on Saturday,  On their second possession of the game the Lions apparently had gotten on the score board first on a 5- yard scamper by Khalil Randall which was nullified by a Lion penalty.  The panthers took a 6-0 lead into the half after a touchdown run by #22.  After a scoreless 3rd, the Lions seemed to have tied the game up when quarterback Devin Morgan hooked up with wide out Rashad Robinson on a 40 yard pass play which was negated by another Lions penalty.  In the 4th quarter the Lions knotted the game up at 6 after Randall scooped up a Panther fumble and took it to the house for a score.  But as fatigue set in Laurels #22 took advantage of sloppy techniques and tackling to break a long run and score the decisive touchdown to end the game.

September 28 2008

The varsity midgets played a solid game vs. King William on Sunday with a 48-0 win. At 2-1 the team has to stay focused, get committed and play mistake free football for the remainder of the season; in order to reach our ultimate goal. We want to say thanks to our team moms & parents for your love & support. Next up the Parham Bears.

October 11, 2008

The varsity midgets played well vs. Chamberlayne on Saturday in a 42-0 win on Homecoming. The defense posted it's 4th straight shutout and has only given up two 1st downs in the last four games. At 4-1 the midgets are sitting in 3rd place in the division and must continue to work hard to reach the playoffs; with big games coming up in the next couple of weeks. Next up the New Kent Falcons.

October 19, 2008

The Varsity Midgets started off weak but finished strong vs. New Kent on Sunday, in a 46-0 win. With the win our record has improved to 5-1; we are in third place in the division. Next Va. Randolph.

October 25, 2008

On a sloppy day at Vawter field the varsity midgets started out the game not focused and playing undisciplined football. Thanks to two kickoff returns we pulled out a win; vs. a Va. Randolph team who were playing to make the playoffs. The final score Glen Lea- 14 VA.Randolph- 6. The win improves the varsity midget’s record to 6-1 and they jump to 2nd place in the division. Va. Randolph loses a playoffs spot with the loss. The Lion Midgets must eliminate the undisciplined play and the penalties; or we will be next getting eliminated from the playoffs. Next Blue Star Cowboys.

November 1, 2008

The varsity midgets DESTROYED Blue Star Blue 54-0. Now the real season starts everybody is 0-0; next up Ashland Vikings. GO OBAMA! YES WE CAN! YES WE DID!
